The
reports are in and they state that we are getting fat and gaining those
unwanted pounds because we simply eat too much. "Could this be the obesity problem." We're eating much more
than we did a decade ago whether you believe it or not ...and most of
what we're eating is carbohydrates.
The data show
that adult women eat somewhere around 350 calories more a day, today,
than they did 25-30 years ago. Men have added to their calorie intake
by roughly 170-175 calories a day.
We are not only
eating more carbs...
...but we're eating more fat and proteins too. We're
also eating more sugar, vegetables, fruits and grains. When it comes
right down to it, we're eating more of everything.
In general,
everyone is eating more and everyone falls into the overeating
category. Not only are we eating more ...we're all "eating out" more
often. We all hit the fast food and sugar shacks because of convenience;
and we're all stressed for time so we head for the drive thru.
Remember, there
are 3500 calories in one pound of body fat. By eliminating just 500
calories per day times seven days per week ...You'll lose one pound a
week. Not bad for just eating less and reducing calorie intake.
Is this part of your obesity problem?
Just so we don't have to look in the mirror and take all of the blame for the obesity problem ...
..lets take a close look at some of the other factors involved in this weight gain problem
According to some of the renowned experts...
...other than education and lack of will power. The most common cause of obesity is poor diet choices, eating too much junk food, bad eating habits, the typical western diet and the lack of the much needed exercise to burn off all those extra calories.
When we consume more calories than the body can use as energy ...the body stores those extra calories as fat. Even with all of the diet plans marketed these days as the magic bullet ...we are all getting fatter even though 25%-50% of the population, at any given time, are on some sort of a diet or exercise program.
Other factors contributing to this obesity pandemic...
...could be the fault of the food processors and food manufacturers, with the increase of the serving size, the processing of the food, the huge amount of "sugar" added to every food, the lifestyle associated with the fast food industry and not to mention the lack of exercise, hormonal imbalance and slow metabolism at the cellular level.
When it's all said and done...
...we can point the finger to many factors. We can point the blame and justify the fact that it's not our fault.
We blame it on the manufacturers.
We can blame it on the fast food industry.
We can blame it on all the sugar
We can blame it on lifestyle habits.
We can blame it on lack of exercise.
We can blame it on hormonal imbalance.
We can blame it on slow metabolism.
And we can blame it on bla...bla...and blas.....!!!
However, when we get to the bottom of the obesity pandemic in this country ...it's mathematics ...there are 3500 calories in one pound of body fat.
Eliminate 500 calories per day from your diet...
...and you will lose one pound of body fat per week ...the question is can and will you pay the price ...how bad do you want it ...look in the mirror.
